JUNE 1st means it is the 1st day of school in India. The day that marks the beginning of a new academic year. We used to run to the school, filled with half joy that we will be meeting all our school friends and with half sadness that we have finished out holidays:-(
I donot remember much of our school days. But it was one of the best part of life. One more best part of my life was my under graduation years. Here I will be enumerating the many many experiences I went through "In the Memory Lane". Of course not in any specific order, its just as it comes from the memory:-)
It was somewhere in between of our 3rd year when 10 of we friends planned a nice trip to Tumkur and Places around. We had 2 full days for us to enjoy. As 6 of them were from proper Tumkur, they left by bus till there. But we, the 4 left ones had 2 bikes both nice ones [in condition]. I had not yet dared to ride a 2 wheeler on the Bangalore Roads. So one of my friend, 'Dr. P', rode the 100 CC Splendor till we were out of Bangalore on the NH-4. Then, he was tired up and it was upto me to ride for the rest of the way. The other 2, got a nice 150 CC CBZ bike and had zoomed far off ahead from us. I took the wheels and Dr. P slept off on my back. He told it was almost like resting on a nice nice pillow!!!!
The ride was one of my first long and best drives I ever had. It was so much of fun riding at 75kmph on a 100 CC bike. Ofcourse, I was confident that we wouldn fly off, he he... The drive along the NH-4, a part of the golden quadrilateral project by our Ex-PM was one of the finest roads constructed so far in India. After some half an hour drive, We met our fellow chaps who had zoomed off on the CBZ. We thought some kirik, but they both were enjoying nicely clicking photos of the landscape around the highway!!! Also there was a railway track running parallel to it. We spent 15 minutes chatting about the ride and traffic in Bangalore. Then, the CBZ guys promised to be slow and ride in parallel to us. It was a fun ride till our next destination of Tumkur. It was already 10:30 am when we reached there, full hungry [I donot remember how we resisted ourselves from the nice tasty tatte idlis of Kyatsandra on the way]
